A Look at GameTweeviews: Reviews in 140 Characters

head_gt

A couple weeks back we reported on #STBW (Squash the Beef Wednesday), the Twitter meme started by Joystiq’s Justin McElroy.  As has been proven time and again, gaming and the Twitterverse tend to cross paths… often.  Which leads to no surprise as we ask the “Why hasn’t this been done sooner?” question.

GameTweeviews is just as it sounds: videogame reviews in 140 characters or less.  What sets this apart from the longer, drawn-out reviews — like my infamous reviews… oops! — is that the format gets to the gist of what makes a game good or bad, fun or not.  By limiting ourselves to 140 characters, we are forced to summarize the game in its most telling descriptors and whether it is worth it or not.  GameTweeviews relies on reviews from followers that have been sent (via DM or @ reply) to the account.  In essence, it is user-generated byte-size reviewing.

In fact, this article is longer than any GameTweeview, so you should probably just check out the feed and see for yourself.

There.  Short and tweet.
