Two-double-o-niner.  It’s arguably been a good year thus far for gaming.  With terrific releases throughout the first half, and even some great games in the usually dead Spring, we felt it necessary and compelling to ask about what some of yours (and ours) favorite games of the year have been.

Since the first half technically ends next week, give yourself a few days to play the last few releases of the first 50% and let us know what your top games have been.

We’ll follow up over US Independence Day weekend with the list of the winners and losers.  Although, we really all are winners so far, aren’t we?

    PUNCH-OUT!!

While I AM loving Punch-Out, and it’s definitely in my top 3, I’d probably throw in SF IV as my #1, with Punch-Out #2 and MadWorld #3. I have yet to play Red Faction and inFAMOUS, though.

Dali, play Red Faction. its too good for words.

    Resident Evil 5 for me.

hmm this is a tough call. since i usually wait until games get pretty cheap before i buy them, and i haven’t looked at the dates, but most of my games are probably from 2008 lol. although i couldn’t wait for a price drop on prince of persia and infamous before getting my hands on them, so my vote goes for those two games.

Oh man, when I read the header image I thought it was a list of the best first-halves of games. Now THAT is a list worth looking into. Thoughts? GUN comes to mind, or perhaps Far Cry 2.

  • Ryan Gan

I feel you on that Far Cry 2 thought, Mike. It did have an excellent first half. The problem with the second half?

    IT DIDN’T WORK

haha, sorry. I’ve still got residual sourness from my FC2 incident. I should boot it up again and see if it can play for five minutes without freezing.

I have two games that I have been playing a lot of, and they are cheep because they are for the DS :D.
They are Lego Battles and Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars. Both are great games and have hours of game play value to them for being DS games.
