Like the latest crop of Star Wars games for the current gen?  Well then this latest bit of news will come as a very welcome treat — if you are a Wii owner, that is.

LucasArts and Nintendo have confirmed a month-long love of all things Star Wars for the Wii, from rereleases of the classic SuperNES games (Super Star Wars, Super Empire Strikes Back, and Super Return of the Jedi) to Star Wars-themed channels and events.  Check Mii Out contests will have a Star Wars angle, so those 13 different versions of Chewbacca Miis you have can all have a chance at being relevant!  In the Everybody Votes channel Star Wars questions will rule the roost, and may make me crack open that channel for the first time in over a year.

Not a huge Star Wars fan anymore?  Don’t worry, as LucasArts have stated that some of their other classic games may make appearances as well.  I’m holding out for anything Zak McKracken related.

If you like 2D action games, the Super Star Wars series on SNES is still pretty good. There are parts that get pretty difficult, but I have managed to muscle through all three of them back in the day. I have SNES copies still in my possession, and may have to play through them again.
