Speed Run: Ninja Gaiden

Ninja Gaiden on the NES was an extremely difficult game. It was hard. If I recall, I never actually completed it, perilously dying on the final two levels each time.

Damn birds.

Youtube user UltraLuigi managed to do a fantastic no death speed run of the game in about 20 minutes. These are pretty much the best 20 minutes of your life, featuring all of the flying hawks and blinking green ninjas that you can handle and culminating in an ending that makes you want to slap your face.

Just…. watch.  Part one above, part two after the break.

[Thanks, tigerspy!]

Ninja Gaiden is an awesome game, but has some of the worst enemy respawning ever. You so much as THINK about moving an inch backwards and all the enemies are back. I never beat the final boss on this game. I know that there is a trick to beating him, but I did not know what it was at the time I was playing.
