Gran Turismo 5 to Release Dec 29th?

[Edit: The December date was originally published on Amazon back in August, with an update to the page recently pushing the date back to the 29th.  We’ve contacted Amazon for comment.]

There it is, on AmazonGran Turismo 5.  December 29th.  Granted, this is just one page on the internet for the game, but with Tokyo Game Show flaring up this next week the announcement of a GT5 release date is inevitable. And what a better way to do than it by letting Amazon ruin the surprise for everyone!

Anyhoo, check out the Amazon page, and pray pray pray that the game FINALLY releases.

There might actually be a reason for me to put down Forza 3 for a while.

  • Christmas release would certainly make sense, but I’m not gonna hold my breath here. Online retailers always jump the gun with their release dates, and this is likely no different. We’ll see, though…

Woohoo! The GT games are my favorites. Been waiting for this to come out for the PS3 since I got it. It’s about time!

Releasing a AAA title like GT5 four days after christmas is ridiculous. They need to get this out in November at the latest or they may as well wait until next year. I suspect Amazon have been told it will be a 2009 release and have posted the Dec 29th date to get the pre orders flowing. Expect this date to change to an October or November release after an announcement at TGS.
