You may not have heard of Design house Amanita, but you’ve probably seen their games: Machinarium, Samorost I & II, and Questionaut are some of the most beautiful, highly stylized adventure games ever created.  The fusion of graphic design prowess and puzzle-solving magic wrapped in beautiful visuals sets the developer’s games apart from others.

Machinarium, released earlier this year, is only the most recent endeavor. Now, Amanita sheds a little light on the process of creating the visual masterpiece by showcasing some of the concept art that went into the game’s development.  Our friends over at CGSociety had a chance to chat with the Czech developer to discuss the game, the difficulties in creating the visuals, and the reason for the specific style.  Head on over for some stunning concept art, initial sketches, and final work.
