The Evening Report: Scrabble MMO Edition

It’s a big day for the Report, ladies and gentlemen. The high we get from the mere thought of the words contained just beyond the jump is so exhilarating, so absolutely orgasmic that you can’t help but click through to read them.

Brace yourselves, readers.

We love free games almost as much as we love.. uh.. well, we pretty much love free games the most. That’s why we think it’s pretty swell that a pre-order of Bulletstorm from the EA Store will net you a free copy of Shank. Sorry, significant others. Going out to dinner is gonna have to wait another week.

Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime responded to questions about their still unannounced MMO. Without giving anything away he mentioned specifically that they weren’t trying to make a World of Warcraft sequel. He also mentioned he has been playing a lot of Words with Friends.

We’ve got our fingers crossed for some kind of a Blizzard style Scrabble MMO.

Speaking of Blizzard and Mike Morhaime, he also talked about looking into moving Diablo to the consoles, assuming they could get around all the issues being on the PC deals with quite well, like patches and expansions. It seems to us we’ll already have Diablo on the console when Torchlight finally lands.

Just sayin’.

FreeStyleGames, the guys who brought you DJ Hero and DJ Hero 2 got hit with some pretty serious layoffs. We’re talking the kind of layoffs that would make the needle on the record skip. Despite all that, we love DJ Hero and hope FreeStyleGames can spin out a new game soon.

Yeah, writing that hurt as much as reading it did.

As a small sidenote, Stacking is out. It’s Double Fine, which is awesome. It has dolls that can fart on other dolls, which is even more awesome. It is also quite fun and well regarded, and we think you should be playing it. Then take your TV, place it in a slightly larger TV and play it again.
