The Evening Report: Infinite Catherine Edition

The Evening Report: Infinite Catherine Edition

I’m late getting this out the door again. Apparently I am not very dependable, sorry folks. Anyway, while it may be tad late, I assure you the extra time I spent scouring for stories made the post that much deeper. With GDC going on right now, and PAX East coming up next week, the gaming community is nerding out in unison. Today we see a Catherine US release date, more content coming to Infinity Blade and more. Check after the break to see what’s up.

I was cruising through Amazon today, looking at some upcoming games when I saw what must have been a mistake. That was an American version of the Atlus game, Catherine. I was sure that was Amazon just being hopeful, so I asked my old pal Google what he thought, and apparently the Catherine website has the game dated for a Summer US release (Amazon says July 26th). This just 6 days after Atlus said there were no plans for a release in our market. So…uhh…buy the game this summer?

Chair is nearly finished with their update for iOS hit, Infinity Blade. This update looks to be bigger than the one released soon after it’s launch, providing more content, yet still maintaining it’s cost of zero dollars. Yup. Still free. Not much to say other than that, really. I just hope when chair finishes this they can go back to making good games, like maybe a sequel to Shadow Complex?

“It’ll be an action RPG that’s focused on fun” Well, thank you Mr. Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian. It is really good that you are going to be making a game that is fun. This was said in an interview with Game Revolution, regarding a new XBLA game that Obsidian hopes to have released by Q1 of 2012. He also mentioned free-to-play, and it being worked on since last summer with a small team. All I really care to know: Will it be broken for the first three months?

Hey, all six Sins of a Solar Empire, fanboys, you will be getting a new game. Big Download spoke with Stardock’s CEO Brad Wardell last week, and he let loose with a wealth of information. So much so, it would take me a week to put it in this post. So, I urge you to click the source link and check out what is coming to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. Maybe this time more people will actually buy the game.
