E3 2011 Parties

When it comes to E3, partying should be pretty low on the scale of to-dos. Night time is reserved for article-writing, preview-posting, podcast-recording, and smoke breaks. Food? Forget about it. You’ll be eating tacos out of the side of a truck as your only sustenance.

But enough about my impending lack of sleep.  For some of the more adventurous people out there, E3 is a great way to hob your nob with the industry faithful, forging strong relationships along the way. Heck, many a press leak has sprung over a glass of Dewars.  We’ve begun compiling a list of the parties for those who have the time and energy.

There’s an unofficial Facebook group for E3 parties as well. Quick updates are in tow: Unofficial E3 2011 Party List

We’ll be hopped up on Five Hour Energy, crying in our hotel rooms.

Ah, whatever. We’ll be getting drunk at the CAG party.

CAG was awesome last year. Interesting that they’re moving up to a bigger venue. The Golden Gopher was a cool place, but space was severely limited last year.

Destructoid is going to be incredible. Seven Grand is a really cool place. If the band is playing, it will be even better.

  • Christophire

Seriously thats all the parties you have? Wow these parties arent even on my radar. I take it you aren’t part of the media group that gets Invites to the top level parties

  • http://www.twitter.com/kewlrats Dalibor Dimovski

Awwww shit! You must have some crazy ass reputation level, yo! If these aren’t on your radar, then I bet you’ll be sword-fighting cocks with CliffyB in the Penthouse suite! God, I wish I was you!

    Douche.

Back to the question about this “being all the parties we have”: Yes, we have invites to and will be attending several other events, but if you’d read the above article (which clearly you didn’t) then you’d realize that these are the parties that are open to the public. I can gloat like you’re trying to, and post the Activision, Harmonix, Microsoft event info, but that’s not the point.

Regardless, don’t forget to bring your home-printed business card with you to get it signed by Master Chief.

  • Jana

Destructoid Party event on Facebook page is a bad link… not sure if it is because they closed the event? Anyone know?
(Tuesday is June 7th :), listed as the 8th) Thanks for the info!!

  • Mike

Well some of the events are invitation only like the alice one, but the others have at least a ‘VIP pay option’ or are open to all

Like you said no point listing press only events as there is no access anyway

  • Mike

Theres posts on the destructiod site the link doesnt work on there either

  • Mike

Scratch the alice one just saw the public day

  • http://www.twitter.com/kewlrats Dalibor Dimovski

Hmm, I’m able to get the links to work on a couple devices… Maybe it’s a Facebook issue/glitch?

  • Mike

Can you get the actual event link to work? If you have already RSVPs that may be why they may have closed the event as too many responses

  • http://www.twitter.com/kewlrats Dalibor Dimovski

Looks like the event went to “Private Event” on Facebook, which is why the Facebook link no longer works (unless you’ve already confirmed attendance).

  • Mike

Its probably for the best as having sunday off going to a party is probably a good thing as every other night will be busy and its an early start in the morning for the MS conference!

  • http://www.twitter.com/kewlrats Dalibor Dimovski

    VERY true!
