The Big Show hits next week, and our favorite thing to do is to make crazy predictions about what we’ll see. Last year we ran a SideQuesting staff competition to see who would get the most correct, resulting in Mike McGarrigle winning a sweet T-shirt. This year, we’re doing the same, only we want to open it up to you as well. Sure, The SQ team can win a Limited Edition SideQuesting shirt, but now so can you, as well as a copy of Hunted: The Demon’s Forge!
Make the best predictions about each category below. Each category is worth a specific amount of points, with a total possible of 18 points. Tie-breakers abound. Want a second chance as well? Enter a second set of predictions in our forums in THIS POST (free registration required).
We’ll tally up all the points and announce the winner on Friday, June 10th. You have until SUNDAY NIGHT, June 5th at 11:59PM PDT to enter!
Categories
1. Safe Bet Prediction (3 points)
This one is basically the safest bet you can think of. It’s meant to be aimed at existing products, so it could be something like “the new Mario 3DS game will be coming this year” or “the NGP will be released this year” or even “Modern Warfare 3 will have timed exclusive maps for the Xbox 360″. Essentially, these are things we *know* will happen, so it’s meant to be an easy 3 points. One prediction here.
2. The Reveals (2 points each)
Generally, the E3 press conferences bring about some great new games and products. This is where you predict those. Will there be a new unnanounced Final Fantasy game? Halo 1 remake? God of War 4? Will Kinect upgrades be announced? What game could we see on the new Nintendo console? You have up to FIVE predictions here, for a possible 10 points at 2 points each.
3. The Balls to the Wall Crazy-Ass Announcement (5 points)
This is where you show your wild side and make a ballsy prediction. For example, last year Mike Wehner somehow predicted that Steam would come to a console. You can use this to predict if Microsoft will announce a new console, or if Apple is buying Nintendo, or if Sony will be giving out an NGP to everyone in attendance. The crazier, the more fun. One prediction here, for a total of 5 points.
In the case of a tie-breaker, we’ll award the win to what the staff thinks is the craziest idea in category #3 (Balls to the Wall).
