Kinect will be  “giving TV a new voice — yours.”

In a new update scheduled for this Fall, Kinect will give you the power to search through Xbox Live content with voice controls.  Users will be able to navigate through menus by using voice commands such as “Xbox Music” and “Xbox Video,” which will make navigating the dashboard easier.  In addition to these voice commands, Xbox will be giving players access to 11 million songs (presumably for purchase).

The bigger surprise is that YouTube and Bing will be coming to Xbox live.  The YouTube app will most likely give you the ability to finally watch YouTube content on your television.  The Bing app makes searching for things on your Xbox and Xbox Live Marketplace much more convenient.  The stage actress at the key note was brought to the app by saying “xbox bing” and sssearching for “X-Men” from “Xbox Bing” brings up all the X-Men content that is available across all media: games on demand, XBLA, and video.

There’s no doubt that this update will make things much more convenient for Kinect owners, but will this update help push Kinect sales?
