Dear readers, we here at SideQuesting adore you. We love writing for you, and we love holding contests for free stuff that you want to win. What we’re saying is that we live to give. If that wasn’t a big part of our core selves we simply wouldn’t be here. But here’s the thing. You guys, while we love you, are probably well enough off. If you had never heard of us you’d still be able to pretty much play anything you really wanted, if you set your mind to it.
There are kids out there who aren’t as fortunate as you, or us.
Years ago, Penny Arcade launched a charity to help these kids out. Since you’re a member of the global community of gamers, you probably know all about it. It’s called Child’s Play. From the time they launched, various groups of gamers and like-minded nerds have been doing their own fundraising, all in the name of helping sick kids.
One of these groups is a sketch comedy group based out of British Columbia, Canada known as Loading Ready Run. You may have seen their videos on the Penny Arcade ‘PATV’ website. Every year they do a fundraiser called Desert Bus for Hope. In short, they marathon a game and livestream the whole thing. They host a chat, hold contests and auctions, and generally do their best to entertain everybody watching. You can watch the stream and find out more specifics here, at their website.
Like we said. We love you guys. We love giving you stuff. It makes us feel happy that we can make other people happy with our contests and giveaways.
