Sorry, I’m behind in listening to the Lonely Tardis Podcasts, but here is my take on the Mind Robber:

This was not one of the best Doctor Who stories – there are some much better Patrick Troughton series around to go with – Tomb of the Cybermen is an earlier one that I would have recommended watching.

You are also under the misconception that the classic Doctor Who was not a regular series – it was a weekly series of half-hour episodes that comprised story arcs. It was particularly “bad” during Troughton’s run: 35 episodes his 1st year as the Doctor, 40 episodes his 2nd year & 44 episodes from his final year.
