During Nintendo’s “Nintendo Direct” and on their Facebook page, Nintendo announced that New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be coming to 3DS this August. As rumored, it was a new 2D Mario game WITHÂ PROPERÂ RACCOON TAILS. Not much is known about the game, but giving that the first two iterations were classic 2D Mario gaming, and with the 3D effects of the portable, expect a whole lot of the same, good fun.
It’ll be interesting to see how this figures into Nintendo’s plan for the Wii U, since Miyamoto recently confirmed that a new Mario game was in the works based on the “New Super Mario Bros. Mii” prototype we saw at last year’s E3. TWO 2-D Mario titles in one year?
