Trying to avoid another marketing snafu like last year’s massive Modern Warfare 3 leak, Activision and Treyarch are setting in stone the reveal of the next Call of Duty. The date: May 1st. The avenue: the NBA Playoffs on TNT.
The reveal of the reveal took place on the official Call of Duty website today, as one counter ended and another sorta began. The game (we think) is set for a 2012 release.
No name or other information was given, but we’ll go ahead and bet that with Treyarch involved and Black Ops being the most successful Call of Duty to date, a Black Ops 2 wouldn’t be out of the question.
But it would be cool to see CoD try another location and time. Maybe it can piggyback along Assassin’s Creed 3 and try the Revolutionary War? Yeah, totally see that happening. Call of Duty: Delaware River.
