In what is probably the biggest setback of The Rock’s career since The Tooth Fairy, G.I. Joe Retaliation has been delayed nine months until March 2013. The decision was made to allow the film to be converted into 3D, purportedly for the added success that brings in foreign markets. The good news in all this is we have another 9 months to come to terms with the fact that Channing Tatum will still be in this.

Best news of the year:  The Dark Knight Returns to be adapted into animated feature

DC announced today that their next animated feature DVD will be an adaptation of former comics genius, current maniac, Frank Miller’s seminal work, The Dark Knight Returns. The story will be split into two separate DVD releases, the first coming out this fall, and the next in 2013. Robocop himself, Peter Weller, will be starring as Bruce Wayne, while Ariel Winter, the smart girl on Modern Family will be Carrie Kelly/Robin.

More bad news from 38 Studios

The financial situation at 38 Studios in Rhode Island continues to carve a path of destruction. CEO Jennifer MacLean as well as senior vice president of product development have both left the studio, in addition to Rhode Island Governor Chafee stating that the studio has received neither any new investments or previously applied for tax credits. Amidst all this, employees of the Project Copernicus developer have not been paid since May 1, and the company’s employee health insurance is set to expire come this Thursday.

News that will surprise nobody: Diablo 3 becomes fastest selling PC game ever

Blizzard announced that Diablo 3 has sold 3.5 million copies in its first week of release this morning. Blizzard also state that 1.2 million other players have received the game from the World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion.
