WWDC 2012: Gamecenter for Mac enabling cross-platform gaming with iOS; Airplay support

At WWDC, an Apple developer conference in San Diego, Apple detailed a bunch of stuff about OS X Mountain Lion that you probably don’t care about. They also detailed a couple Game Center enhancements.  If you happen to be one of those trust fund babies with an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and a Mac, that gaming service you’re still not using got just got a bit more interesting.

Certain games that have been released on both iOS and OS X will now be able to be played cross-platform, facilitated by Game Center. Craig Federighi took the stage with a Top Gear‘s Stig knock off to demo Natural Motion’s CSR Racing, with Federighi playing on a MacBook Pro with pseudo-Stig on the iPad. Additionally, with Mountain Lion’s screen mirroring over Airplay, you can play your Mac games wirelessly on your TV. Not bad. We might actually start using Game Center, but probably not.
