Walking With Dinosaurs

At their Gamescom 2012 press conference, Sony announced that they’ve partnered with the BBC and Disney to work on new projects for Wonderbook.

The BBC will be introducing a title based on “Walking With Dinosaurs”, a simulated nature documentary expounding on the habits of the titular reptiles. The miniseries’ Wonderbook counterpart will allow users to dig up fossils around a simulated globe, scan said fossils with the Playstation Eye and convert them into virtual dinosaurs which can then be interacted with using the Move controller.

Meanwhile, Disney is working to bring “famous brands” to Wonderbook sometime in the future. What kind of brands, exactly? Well, no specifics were given during the press conference, but if anyone has a diverse library of properties to draw from, it’s Disney.
