Amongst the many new titles announced during Sony’s Gamescom 2012 press conference was a new game from Studio Japan — Puppeteer.

The game focuses on Kutaro, a boy that is spirited away to a castle belonging to the “maleficent Moon Bear King”. After turning him into a puppet, the King devours Kutaro’s head and casts away his body. Using a magical pair of scissors as well as a supply of interchangeable heads, Kutaro embarks on a journey through a theatre-like world that changes with his movements to find his head and a way back home.

The game’s art design seems to borrow heavily from games like LittleBigPlanet and The Gunstringer while the story seems reminiscent of something Studio Ghibli might invent. It certainly seems like an interesting combination and you can stay tuned at SideQuesting to find out more information about Puppeteer as it develops.
