Sony UK confirms probable Vita price cut for 2013

We know, it’s starting to sound like a broken record. “When will Sony finally cut the price of the Vita and make it competitive?” Well, it looks like either Sony heard you or common sense is being applied tactically.

Speaking to Eurogamer recently, Sony UK head honcho Fergal Gara stated that the company “always aim[s] to establish price cuts” and that “the question is not so much if, but when.” Sounds damning? Well, it’s not. For a device that will have been out for over a year, a price cut in its second term doesn’t just seem logical, it’s practically the norm with mobile electronics. Sony is doing everything it can to salvage this holiday season by strategically creating Vita bundles under the same price point. That $250 US price won’t change until after the holidays, and quite possibly will be an E3 announcement depending on how sales fare up until then.

In NBA 2K13, Jordan’s Dream Team beats Kobe’s Team USA

If you may not be much of a sports fan, then you’ll probably want to skip this story.

Are they gone? Okay, good. One of the biggest debates during the Olympics this past Summer was if the current Team USA (featuring Lebron, Kobe, Dwayne Wade) could beat the Dream Team of the early nineties (featuring Jordan, Magic, and Bird). Thanks to the latest edition of NBA 2K13, we may now have a better idea. 2K Sports simulated the game, which allows the two legendary teams to play each other, and discovered what many of us old timers already know: the Dream Team is still the greatest of all time. The final score was 133-126, with Magic taking the Player of the Game honors.

A video game result probably won’t satisfy too many folks on either side of the argument, but it at least gives us a good idea of what the matchups would have been like.

The Espera Sbarro Eight concept, designed by students for maximum awesome

It’s not gaming news, but it’s still incredibly bad ass. The Eight, created by design students from the Espera Sbarro Montbéliard School of Design, debuted last week at the Paris Motor Show. We love it, because it looks like it’d fit right in with Borderlands 2 or the upcoming Dishonored. It brings us happy memories of our Dystopia competition from last year. [Hey, we should do another one of those, eh?]
