October Movie Marathon: Week 3

What a week I had. I have seen some absolutely atrocious movies as well as some decent additions to the marathon. Where to begin?

To start off the week I watched Ghosts Of Mars, with Ice Cube being a gangsta in space, but not like the ones from Saints Row The Third. I don’t know that it in fact involved ghosts, really. However it did have chrome plated space guns. Then I watched the second movie in the Twilight saga. I thought that things couldn’t get any worse than the first one, but I was sorely mistaken. Next was Phantoms, that felt pretty much like a rip off of Stephen King novels.

The start of the week was, well… weak. From there things got better with The Burning, The Stuff and Mutant Girls Squad. The Burning was pretty decent and felt like someone actually cared enough to put a little love into the movie. Had some well known actors in it (Jason Alexander, Fisher Stevens) and wasn’t bad over all. The Stuff was at it’s heart a dopey movie about sentient killer yogurt, but it felt like the main part had been writing for a young Chevy Chase. Finally Mutant Girl Squad is another in the long line of Tokyo Shock movies, and it lives up to it’s heritage. From three well known Japanese directors of the same genre, Mutant Girls Squad is full of blood and fake rubber appendages. Rounding out the week was Super Shark, however, nothing about this movie was super. Seriously. Nothing.

This week I am watching an Uwe Boll “classic” and a couple movies from the 80′s that probably no one has ever heard of. I will probably try my had at an actual good horror movie this week to cleanse my pallet, but I haven’t decided which one yet. I really hope you all are enjoying this. The marathon is almost over, and I am really enjoying that.
