Trailer Check: Indie Games on PBS and the awesome Halo 4 prequel

We don’t post every single video sent to us by the fine PR folks of the gaming industry. That’s just not our thang. However, we do try to highlight the ones that take promotion of a video game to a completely new level. In Trailer Check, you’ll find some of our favorite video game trailers that pop up around the web, and why we love them.

We’re pretty excited about Halo 4, since it finally reunites us with Master Chief and is the first original entry by 343 Industries into the series. The visuals are pretty mind blowing, and the action looks intense! As Microsoft is wont to do with each entry, they’re launching a live-action prequel to promote it. The clip above is the first in the film’s 5-part series, named Forward Unto Dawn. Running at almost 20 minutes, it’s great timing for the half-time of [insert big weekend football game here].

PBS’ Off-Book web series has thrown more than a few video game related episodes into its evaluation of online arts. The latest takes a look at the creativity of indie games, chatting with the creators of Osmos, Spelltower, and Bastion. There’s even a cameo by our friend Leigh Alexander! (Hi Leigh!)
