The Weekend Report, December 16th, 2012: Gears of War Gameplay, Playstation Sales and Metal Gear Rising Box Art

Gears of War: Judgment Gameplay

Joystiq got a hot tip about something a lot of people have been waiting to see. That’s right, real-life fake guns!

Oh, they also showed off four new videos of Gears of War: Judgment campaign gameplay. If you’re into that sort of thing. The video posted above is actually some older footage, but you get the idea.

It Only Does Discounts on Everything

In case you feel like stocking up for that Playstation fanboy or fangirl in your life before Christmas, Sony’s got you covered.

Most Sony branded Playstation 3 and all Playstation Vita accessories are getting steep discounts at select retailers, including Best Buy, throughout this week. That’s including Vita memory cards, in case you were wondering, which are going for as much as $20 cheaper than the standard suggested retail price.

Move stuff is on sale, too, in case you care. We know you don’t, though.

America Got the Good Box Art for Once

Generally speaking, North America gets shafted in the box art department. While Japan and even Europe tend to get the majority of classy and artistic designs, we get this.

Reversible covers have helped salve the chafe of awful art, but it’s not always an option. This time, however, America gets the good stuff while the rest of the world gets shafted.

You hear that, foreign territories? You’ve had it good for too long, but that stops here!
