Ken Levine explains BioShock Infinite cover art

Ken Levine recently addressed some frustration regarding the cover art for BioShock Infinite. Talking to Wired, Levine explains that the cover art is intentionally aimed towards gamers who may not necessarily know anything about the BioShock games. He says that some members of Irrational Games went to frat houses and asked the people if they had ever played any of the BioShock series. Unfortunately, they found that they were often met with a resounding “no.”

Levine believes that fans will already be there to buy the game when it hits the shelves. The box art is a way to tap into the part of the market that may be “uninformed” in regards to the anticipated title.

Levine also notes that, for those who want something better, there will be other downloadable and printable covers for those who are unhappy with original box art.
