Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Trailer Shows Off That Bod

Konami released a new trailer for the latest Metal Gear game showcasing the incredible abilities of Raiden’s freshly rebuilt cyborg body. Probably the most relevant information from the trailer is the suit’s “AR Mode”, which appears to work similarly to the detective vision in Batman: Arkham Asylum, letting you see enemies through walls and other data. Highlights of the trailer include a terrible German accent on the narrator, Raiden stabbing a robot in the butt, and an explanation of Raiden’s blade absorbing the electrolytes of his slain enemies, which makes about as much sense as your average Gatorade commercial.

French Soldier Wearing ‘Call of Duty’ Mask

Kotaku found a post from French news organization AFP that a bit of outrage has been stirred up regarding a soldier taking part in France’s military actions in Mali wearing a “Call of Duty” mask. The mask in question, featuring the lower half of a skull, is pretty common both in and outside of the military. As Kotaku notes, people were wearing these masks before they appeared on the character of Ghost in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, so it’s beyond ridiculous to condemn this soldier for wearing a mask supposedly connected to a video game. Like an astute comment on the Kotaku post mentions, even Tim Allen wore one in the movie Wild Hogs! If anyone deserves punishment over this mask situation, it’s Tim Allen.

Unannounced Game Unveiled In THQ Sale

Joystiq reported that in the midst of the filing’s of THQ Montreal’s sale to Ubisoft a previously unannounced game, Underdog, was revealed. There’s no information about the game aside from it’s name and the fact that it was being developed at THQ Montreal. However, given that the previously named 1666, the next game from Assassin’s Creed II designer Patrice Désilets, was also purchased by Ubisoft, Underdog is something distinctly different.

Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, there’s still no news on what’s happening to the development of things like Vigil Studios’ Project: Crawler or Warhammer 40k: Dark Millennium, now that no one put up a bid for the company during the sale.

The Ryan’s Den- #THQJobs

In the wake of the absolute devastation at THQ and all it’s subsidiaries, there’s a tiny ray of hope. Game journalist Alex Rubens helped organize the creation of a Google Doc with a big list of all the game studios that are hiring, hopefully allowing anyone affected by the THQ business to land on their feet. Good luck to anyone in that situation, and here’s the link to the doc.
