The PlayStation 4 Revealed
With the Sony PlayStation 4 reveal finally over, the next gen race between Microsoft and Sony is now in full effect. Sony’s opening volley focused heavily on the game streaming ability baked into the new PS4 thanks to their purchase of Gaikai. The added functionality will allow gamers to stream game trials instead of downloading large demo files as well as provide backwards compatibility for PlayStation 1, 2 and 3 titles.

After detailing the transition from the Cell processor to an x86 based architecture, Sony trotted out a number of developers to showcase some of the eye candy that is currently being developed for the new platform. The roundup included trailers for inFAMOUS: Second Son, Deep Down (working title), Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, and an Unreal Engine 4 demo. Sony closed the show with an official announcement of Diablo III coming to consoles and exclusive Destiny content for the PS4.

Rumored Next-Gen Kinect Details
Maybe just to make sure the next-generation Xbox didn’t get forgotten about in the circus surrounding the Song event today, posted specs for the rumored new and improved Kinect that is expected to ship alongside the new Xbox. The report listed a number of improvements including, 1920×1080 video capture at 30 FPS, an increased field of view, and an IR system that allows for better feature recognition.

XCOM Enemy Unknown Deal

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Heavily Discounted
If you find yourself looking for something you can get your hands on and play today after reading all the details of the upcoming Microsoft and Sony gaming system, Green Man Gaming has a great deal for you on XCOM: Enemy Unknown (PC). XCOM is already in must-buy territory at $20 on Steam right now, but by using the code GMG20-P4DLK-FKYRS at checkout on Green Man Gaming you can knock the price down to $16. I’d suggest skipping on diner out this week, feast on some ramen and treat yourself to one of the best games of 2012.
