Update: The Walking Dead season two is aimed at a fall 2013, not 2014 release, according to a statement made to Game Informer.

“The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for fall of ‘this’ year (2013), and not ‘next’ year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for Telltale’s series.”

Telltale Games’ award winning zombie survival story based on The Walking Dead franchise will receive a second season next year, the studio’s co-founder and CEO Dan Connors told Eurogamer.

“We’re aiming for fall next year,” Connors said Tuesday evening, after winning the Best Story and Mobile & Handheld BAFTA Game Awards for The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead season two will react to decisions players made in season one, Connors explained to IGN the same night. Connors was cagey when asked about importing saves from the PlayStation 3 to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, and was cut off by Telltale Executive Producer Kevin Boyle, who said Telltale is in “close contact with Sony and they understand what is the secret recipe of The Walking Dead so expect that we’ll be talking about it soon.”

When Sony announced the PlayStation 4 it revealed PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Network games will not be playable on the new system. It’s unclear whether or not PlayStation 3 saves are transferable.

In February, Gary Whitta, The Walking Dead story consultant and Episode 4 writer, told IGN, “We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two.”

Connors said the San Rafael, California-based developer will have an announcement soon.
