A new trailer and a 2014 release date for Dragon Age: Inquisition were shown at EA’s E3 press conference today. The game will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
The trailer featured Morrigan, a main character from the first game, narrating about the desperate, war-torn state of the game’s world with lots of footage of battles and magic. Dragon Age Creative Director Mike Laidlaw, as well as the trailer itself, said that everything in the trailer was in-engine, that engine being Frostbite 3. Some of the visuals featured in the trailer make that claim especially impressive, but it’s possible the footage is in-engine but not necessarily what gameplay will look like.
