E3 2013: EA (Finally) Reveals New Star Wars: Battlefront

EA revealed the next-gen edition of the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise, from DICE LA at their official E3 conference. StarWars.com promised platform and release information at a later date.

The teaser started in the first-person perspective, as an audibly tired character struggles through a snowy wasteland littered with metal debris. Suddenly a few laser blasts streak through the sky followed shortly by a crashing snowspeeder, and then the thunderous stomp of a distinctly recognizable AT-AT foot.

It’s back, baby.

Battlefront is being developed by DICE LA, but there was no mention of whether or not they would be utilizing any of the assets produced when the game was under production at the recently shuttered LucasArts, or if there were even any left over from the game’s development with Free Radical.
