SideQuesting’s Most Anticipated Games of E3 2013: Destiny

Destiny shines at E3

SideQuesting has a list! Just like any other good website looking for easy views and comment wars, we’ve assembled a mega list of the games that we’re most excited about for E3 2013. There are several, and we *hope* that they’re all awesome. I guess we find out in a week! Anyhoo, enjoy our Most Anticipated Games of E3!

“Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Well, you can probably do that here, at least in terms of quality. Bungie’s first non-first party game, Destiny, debuted back in February just days before the PS4 reveal. It’s still an FPS, and it’s still a futuristic sci-fi adventure, but there is a whole lot more going on under the covers this time.

For one, the game is built around an incredibly deep multiplayer online component. It’s *almost* an MMO, something that Halo never achieved. It’s not so much squad-based wars of territory, though we’re sure that will probably be around as well, as it is mission-based cooperative play that is persistent and “alive”.

Players select their choice class and defend their stronghold, all while the last safe City is guarded by the orb-like Traveler against constant attack.

Beyond those scant details and some gorgeous concept art, not much is known about the game except that it will be available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. It’s hard not to resist the pedigree of Bungie, and the massive scale of Destiny. Could it be the Call of Duty for the Next Gen? Can it make it out of the shadow of its Halo predecessor (and the Traveler, while we’re at it)? We’ll find out soon. Destiny is due in 2014, but we’ll have our look at E3 in just a few short days.
