Watch This: Tommy Tallarico’s terrific TEDx talk about games as art in disguise

Tommy Tallarico TEDx Video Games Live

You may or may not have heard of Tommy Tallarico, but you’ve probably heard Tommy Tallarico. The creator of the traveling orchestrated live show Video Games Live, Tallarico not only boasts a terrifically catchy name but also has composed and worked on over 300 video games in his 23 year career. He’s probably worked on the majority of games that sit on your shelf in your living room.

He knows his shit, in other words.

When he recently spoke at TEDxManchesterVillage he talked about not only his passion for gaming but also how the hobby inspires creativity, leads to cultural shifts, and ultimately becomes art. Tallarico shares insights into the metrics behind games, sales, and history. He dives into comparisons to classic opera and how Video Games Live is bringing new generations to live orchestra tours. And, he’s energetic through the entire thing.

It’s a great clip, and one you’ll probably want to check out and share.

[Thanks, Tommy]
