Microsoft, Ubisoft, Oculus Rift, indie devs top this year’s PAX East exhibitor list

Microsoft is the only company out of the so-called “big three” that will exhibit at this year’s PAX East, according to a guide that was quietly released on the Guidebook app this week. Nintendo and Sony are not included on the sprawling exhibitor list, though a small booth for “PlayStation Community” is listed.

The completely, utterly sold-out PAX East runs from April 11-13 in Boston.

2K Games, Bethesda, Blizzard, Square Enix and Ubisoft are among the other AAA companies listed as PAX East exhibitors. This gives us hope that we might see the forthcoming Watch Dogs, or Evolve, the upcoming 4v1 multiplayer game coming from the Left 4 Dead creators. We know for certain that Blizzard will show off Heroes of the Storm and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls for PlayStation 4.

For those interested in seeing if virtual reality is really their cup of tea, the creators of Oculus Rift and the Omni treadmill, which make us dream of running laps in Skyrim, will also be on the show floor.

Several indie developers will show on the exhibitor floor, including Double Fine, creators of Broken Age; 17-Bit, creators of Skulls of the Shogun and the upcoming Galak-Z: The Dimensional; Klei Entertainment, creators of Don’t Starve and the upcoming Invisible Inc.; and Vlambeer, creators of Ridiculous Fishing and the upcoming Nuclear Throne.

I’m particularly excited to see that indie publisher Devolver Digital will be there, meaning we might have a chance to meet its mysterious and equally illustrious CFO, Fork Parker. I’m also interested to see if Team Meat will actually show off their crazy-cat simulator Mew-Genics, like they were supposed to last year.
