Far Cry 4 Announced for November Release

far-cry-4-box-art_1024Publisher Ubisoft quietly announced a sequel to 2012’s premiere shark stabbing simulator and open world first-person shooter Far Cry 3 during annual their 2014 earning’s presentation. The oh-so creatively named Far Cry 4 will hit PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 on November 18.

Following the announcement, a post went up on the official PlayStation Blog, shedding some light on the game’s setting, as well as the pre-order bonuses and limited edition.

“Of course, you can expect the same unique, open-world gameplay that has set Far Cry apart from more traditional shooters. Far Cry 4 will be set in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous, and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic, self-appointed king. This is not your standard FPS. You will be equipped with a vast array of weapons, animals, and vehicles, and our highly detailed and interactive open-world will let players write their own story across an exotic and varied landscape.”

With E3 just around the corner, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see more details and a gameplay demo at one of the big two press conferences, as well as at Ubisoft’s own. For now, however, we’ll just have to settle for the absolutely amazing box art.
