David Lynch’s Twin Peaks makes a glorious comeback to Showtime in 2016

Who killed Laura Palmer?

That was the main plot line of the original two season run of Twin Peaks 25 years ago, one of television’s most incredibly bizarre and yet thought-provoking series. The show ended rather abruptly, with narrative threads dangling like participles.

Now, decades later, THE SHOW IS COMING BACK!

Revealed by Showtime today, Twin Peaks will make its return to television on the premium network in 2016 for a nine-episode run. David Lynch and Mark Frost will once again take the helm for all nine episodes. The new season will take place with a modern day setting, as we revisit the town of mirth and mayhem. No, this is not a reboot, but an actual continuation of the original two seasons.

Though I fondly watched the show back in its heyday, many are too young to remember it, or weren’t even born yet. I know, there are actually people under 25 years old. WTF. It’s the perfect time to catch up, as the full series is available on Netflix, along with the DVD of the film “Fire Walk With Me”.
