Rumors of a Wii U focused Animal Crossing game started bubbling up over the last few weeks, and many thought E3 would be the perfect place for an announcement.
Well, there’s good news and bad news.
Animal Crossing amiibo Festival is most definitely coming to the Wii U, and it most definitely brings some amazing amiibo figures that will be playable in game. The design of the game, however, is essentially a Mario Party-esque experience with Animal Crossing flavors. Players move around a board, and instead of using Mario Party 10’s motion games they’ll be tasked with more Animal Crossing-styled events.
Decorating, hairstyles, housework and more will be there in this simplified task management sim. Modes are still a mystery, as are characters and any connectivity to the 3DS game that was rumored.
Nintendo is currently penciling the game in for Holiday 2015.
