[E3 2016] Hideo Kojima’s new game, Death Stranding, revealed at Sony press event

I can’t say that I’ve ever wanted to see The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus naked. That statement is a little out of left field, sure, but it’s one that I felt I need to clarify.

Hideo Kojima, on the other hand, wants all the naked Norman Reedus he can get. At least, that’s what the first trailer for his new game tells us.

Maybe?

At Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, Kojima swaggered onto the stage, fresh off of obliterating Konami’s reign on him, to announce that he was back. Well, we knew he was back, since he had signed with Sony several months ago to work on a Playstation exclusive game, but now it’s right in our face.

And though it’s only been a few short months since he was let go from Konami, created his own studio, and signed with the console manufacturer, his first game already has a name and a teaser trailer.

Death Stranding features Kojima’s best bud Reedus as he fights to figure out why he’s awoken nude on a beach in handcuffs, with a baby on an umbilical cord lying next to him.

And that’s all we know. No date, no details — this is probably just a thematic trailer, not an actual gameplay one — and just sort of an announcement.

We’ll have more from Kojima, whenever that is.
