Arguably one of the best Final Fantasy games is finally, FINALLY coming back. Final Fantasy XII released for the PS2 in 2006 and has been a phantom since that day. But now, 10 years later, it’s getting the amazing re-release it deserves.
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age is an HD update of the original game, but is also much more than just a visual upgrade. The game now adds the Zodiac Job System, a 12-job progression system that was added to an updated Japan-only 2007 version of the game.
Zodiac Age also allows us to flip between the original and a remastered soundtrack, and a 100-battle trial mode.
The original Final Fantasy XII arrived just as the PS3/Xbox 360 generations were dawning upon us and looked great back on the aging hardware. Zodiac Age brings the same base as the original, albeit with glorious modern visuals. It’s scheduled for release in 2017 for the Playstation 4.
