Marvel debuts Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Defenders trailers at SDCC

Marvel news is hitting San Diego Comic Con in a big way this year, and Netflix seems to be bringing a lot of that action to us.

With Daredevil and Jessica Jones already at the top of everyone’s queues, and The Punisher announced for sometime in the future, Marvel formally took the wraps off of its other previously announced shows this week during their joint panel with Netflix.

Iron Fist stars Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones as he takes on the role of Danny Rand. Rand, once lost during a plane crash, is raised by monks and taught the ways of martial arts. He returns to New York to avenge the wrongs against his family. The show arrives in 2017.

Luke Cage spins off of Jessica Jones this September to its own series. Played by Mike Colter, Cage features a hero that defends Harlem after a botched experiment left him with super strength and impervious skin.

With Cage and Fist arriving in the coming months, and Daredevil getting a third season, the core Defenders team has been fully revealed. So, to entice us with its plans for the future, Marvel & Netflix gave us the first tease for the proper Defenders series, coming in 2017.

To top it all off, the two companies gave us a supercut of highlights from all of their shows, even dropping in a nod to The Punisher.
