Nintendo reveals Temple of Time in new Breath of the Wild video

E3 was a couple of months ago, and during the event Nintendo showcased the mammoth Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to fans and industry alike. It earned kudos, awards, and lots of thinkpieces, with many of those centered around its world design and environments.

Within those environments, players on the show floor could visit not only the Hyrule Field but also some locations from Zelda lore, including the Temple of Time. First seen in the N64’s Ocarina of Time, the temple will now make its way into a fourth game, appearing in ruins in this latest adventure. That can only mean that this game takes place some time after the N64 adventure (and by nature, Skyward Sword, which is set at the beginning of the Zelda timeline). This follows the trend of ruined vistas and stone that Nintendo has shown off of the game thus far.

In a Facebook post today, Nintendo showed off the temple in all its desolate glory. What tie, if any, will this have to the game and to past entries? Will time travel be involved? Who knows. Until then, ogle the video and patiently wait until March when Breath of the Wild is scheduled to release.
