Valve reveals Artifact, new game set in DOTA universe

With The International — Valve’s massive annual DOTA 2 tournament and championship — taking place this week, the company took the time to announce a new game in the DOTA universe. Meet: Artifact!

It’s a collectible card game.

Another collectible card game.

Look, I get it. Valve and Blizzard are in some sort of a war right now to mimic each other’s popular properties and game releases, but we all know the real story here: WHERE IS THE NEXT LOST VIKINGS GAME?!

At TI2017, announcer Sean “Day9” Plott teased the game before sharing the video above. The game, he noted, seems to take a lot of details from the IP, including lanes, characters and more.

Artifact: The Dota Card Game is due sometime in 2018.
