Firewall Zero Hour may be PSVR’s much needed multiplayer FPS

Former Microsoft Creative Director Adam Orth has resurfaced with his new company, First Contact Entertainment, to reveal Firewall Zero Hour at Sony’s PSX show.

The PSVR exclusive puts players in teams of 4v4 as they either defend or acquire sensitive data. The attacking team needs to bypass the firewall, find the computer and hack it. The defending team needs to secure the access points and prevent the hack from occurring. It doesn’t seem very deep in theory, but the modern setting and the VR design sensibilities should put a new spin on classic tactical gameplay.

Peeking around corners, for instance, will be much more natural in VR, as will stealth, so that each match may actually lead to tension that we’ve been missing from modern team FPS games.

The game can be played with both the Dual Shock 4 and the PSVR Aim controller, and is due sometime in 2018.
