Nintendo’s newest mobile game has been revealed.
Revealed as part of its financial earnings results briefing, Nintendo will be bringing Mario Kart to smart phones. Mario Kart Tour will arrive by the end of March 2019. Nothing else has been revealed about the game except a logo, but it continues the push by the company for its major IPs to receive releases on mobile devices.

This news shouldn’t be a confirmation that the only mobile game the company is working on is Kart, and it may not be the next to release, either, but it could mean that the next proper Mario Kart game on consoles could be a long way off.
In more definite news, Nintendo’s Switch Online service finally has a (new) launch date. The company announced that its network platform for multiplayer gaming on the console/portable hybrid will be arriving in September of 2018. The pricing will run $3.99 per month, $7.99 for 3 months, and $19.99 per year, and come with a monthly “compilation of classic games” like Super Mario Bros 3 and Balloon Fight that add new online multiplayer modes and eShop deals. Online multiplayer will remain free until that date.
What’s most interesting about this news is that with the big multiplayer games — Splatoon 2, Mario Kart, ARMS — already out of the way, and the September timeframe smack dab in the middle of the typically busy Fall season, it could signal that a major multiplayer release could be on the horizon.
