With the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo really really REALLY hopes you like re-releases

Wait, this is getting… a little… ridiculous?

We’d be upset at the Big N for filling lineups almost exclusively with remakes and reissues, but these games are soooo good and deserve love on the portable.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker

Not to be outdone by the Switch, Captain Toad is waddling over to the 3DS as well. Launching day-and-date with the HD version, the 3DS edition brings a secondary map on the lower screen and stereoscopic 3D up top.

Luigi’s Mansion

Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon was a fantastic 3DS game, so it should come as no surprise that the original game could make its way to the portable as well. Look for the Gamecube classic’s remake (demake?) later this year.

WarioWare Gold

Last year gave 3DS owners a collection of 100 of the best Mario Party series minigames. This August, 300 of the best (and many new) WarioWare microgames will come together on the portable device. WarioWare Gold launches August 3.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr’s Journey

Last year also brought 3DS owners a remake of the original Mario & Luigi game, Superstar Saga. The game’s sequel, Bowser’s Inside Story, launched on the DS in 2009, and is about to launch on the 3DS as well. It’s a ground-up remake, with upgraded visuals and an all-new side story — Bowser Jr’s Journey — tacked on. To celebrate the 10th anniversary, the game will arrive in 2019. That’s next year. A 3DS game next year.

What dark timeline are we living in.
