Gamescom: A Plague Tale: Innocence brings us some cool rats

I hate rats. Developers Asobo Studio seem to realize this, because the swarms of the little devils are everywhere in their new gameplay video for A Plague Tale, and I’m shuddering just watching it.

A Plague Tale: Innocence tells the story of two siblings, Amicia and Hugo, as they try to survive the literal onset of the plague, smack dab during the Hundred Years War. The story takes place in France in the 1300’s, so don’t expect any novel weapons outside of fire to beat back the furry beasts, of which there appear to be thousands in the kids’ way.

I *almost* can’t watch this video, as the realism of the vermin makes my stomach turn, but that’s the point of the experience. The game will mix some action, along with stealth and adventure, as the duo do their best to make it to safety.

But those rats. UGH.

A Plague Tale arrives in 2019.
