The new trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: Resistance animated series is here to warm our hearts.
Featuring a fairly stereotypical bumbling rookie hero and his crew of aliens and droids, Resistance does have something going for it: the animation looks fantastic — at least, for everything but the humans. Utilizing computer generated 3D re-shaded to look like traditional animation can lead to good results, and in the case of the ships, droids, vistas and aliens here it overwhelmingly succeeds. Just look at that awesome use of color and lighting. JUST LOOK AT IT.
The humans, however, come off a bit rigid and stiff in their motion.
But that’s all okay. This is more Star Wars on or small screens, which is fine. We plan on taking as many screen captures to use as wallpaper as possible.
Star Wars: Resistance debuts on the Disney Channel on Sunday, October 7 at 10PM.
