Well, the box is, anyways. The Xbox, that is. Yesterday, Microsoft finally revealed the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, or, as fans lovingly call it, the Xbox One SAD Edition. We prefer “SADE” ourselves.
Whatever you want to refer to it as (Marketing didn’t quite do a great job naming it) the new box will be an Xbox One S through and through, sans one thing: a disc drive. Sitting pretty at $249, it’s $50 cheaper than the S it is meant to sit alongside (or perhaps eventually replace). It contains a 1 TB HDD and bundles with Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, and Forza Horizon 3. Yes, all games that are over a year old.
The box appears to be the same size as the current S as well. The only visual difference is that there’s no disc drive.
So let’s recap: No disc drive, 1TB HDD, $50 cheaper. The current comparable Xbox One S retails for $299, but can be found for $249 or less at places like Walmart.
So yeah, there you go.
