Star Wars Episode IX is titled The Rise of Skywalker

At Star Wars Celebration in Chicago today, Disney & Lucasfilm finally revealed the name of the final movie in the Skywalker Saga.

Star Wars Episode IX is officially subtitled The Rise of Skywalker

Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abrams joined host Stephen Colbert on stage to reveal the news. Cast and crew arrived on stage to describe their roles and experience in developing the final film, and the entire trilogy or trilogies.

Abrams described the movie as an “adventure that the group goes on together.” At the end of Episode VIII, the rebels were all reunited during their escape from the clutches of the First Order, and though this won’t take place directly after that film, the team has stayed together.

Then, they debuted the teaser trailer.

Episode IX arrives this Winter.
