Capcom reveals Monster Hunter World’s giant Iceborne expansion

Snow way!

During Sony’s State of Play broadcast yesterday, the company debuted the trailer and information for the massive Monster Hunter World expansion, Iceborne.

The new expansion takes place right after the events of World, with strange phenomena beginning to pop up around the world. Players will explore a brand new biome, Hoarfrost Reach, that will be encrusted in snow and ice. New monsters (snowy ones!), new items, and a huge new story will take place over several hours of game time.

The expansion is very, very large, but not large enough to be sold as a separate game. It will be DLC for the main World experience, but fans who don’t own the game will still have an opportunity. Capcom isn’t planning a special Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition that bundles the main game with the DLC in one package.

All of this arrives September 6, 2019 for consoles and later in the Fall (Spring in the lower hemisphere) for PC.
