Game Freak’s Town becomes Little Town Hero, due this year

Big trouble in little town

Last year Game Freak, one of the companies behind Pokémon, revealed a new game that it was working on, tentatively titled “Town”. Now, we have a firm title and a release date to match.

Little Town Hero is a turn-based RPG set in a single town as it’s ransacked by monsters. You star as the hero, Axe, and use “Ideas” to take down the beasts. During battles, Axe can shift around the town to recruit citizens for help. The game won’t have the typical JRPG grind associated with it, as enemies won’t necessarily be weak or strong, but require different strategies. Nintendo states that this is for the “busy gamer” who doesn’t necessarily have the time to grind.

The game’s delightful music is being composed by Undertale’s Toby Fox, which should make our eyes water and hearts happy.

Little Town Hero is due October 16th, and since there’s no physical release announced we tend to lean towards a digital/eShop only drop.
