BBC Announces Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock

The galaxy’s favorite Time Lord will be riding the air waves again this Christmas. After that, however, The British sci-fi sensation Doctor Who won’t appear again on TV until late next year. But just because the good Doctor and his companions won’t be televised, that doesn’t mean our summer will be entirely time travel free.

BBC Worldwide and Supermassive Games have announced the first in what they say will be a series of new Doctor Who video games; Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock for the Playstation 3, Playstation Vita and PC. They’ve even got themselves a spiffy teaser trailer featuring Cloister Bells and cosmic clocks.

Apperantly the game will feature the talents of Matt Smith and Alex Kingston as titular Doctor and his saucy time travelling bride, River Song as well as the BBC Wales writing team. As noted in the press release, players will take on the roles of both the Doctor and River as they travel through the universe; presumably to engage in wibbly wobbly timey wimey activities. The game is set for release in early 2012.
